Corgi in a wooden box to quell your 13th worries!!
Tremendous Bill, my dad, turned 73 on July 6th, I hope everyone wished him a happy birthday.. or at least wished him an amicable day?
Since last week, Rieko has really been feeling better... she's got some hustle in her bustle!Today while I walked over to a cheap haircut place, she went to the city and shopped and bought me clothes after eating a great lunch at the ramen shop where dreams are made: Ozakura.
Tomorrow, weather and belly permitting, we're going to the Karaoke place :)

Widgets
Tonight is gonna be a short post, it's just past midnight and I have to get up early tomorrow for work. I was planning to do some exercise tonight, but I got caught up writing code and watching a lifetime movie called "Pregnancy Project" or something like that, it turned out to be really quite good!
Anyway, I solved the widget problem, albeit in a method I'm not so proud of...
Here's the code I used to add rows to my widget layout, the row is defined in a file called "datarow.xml" :
rv2 = new RemoteViews(this.getApplicationContext()
.getPackageName(), R.layout.datarow);
if(tr.hasClass("title"))
i = 1;
else
i = 0;
for (Element td : tds) {
if (td.getElementsByTag("a").size() > 0) {
Elements anchors = td.getElementsByTag("a");
td.text(anchors.get(0).text());
rv2.setTextViewText(R.id.textView2,
td.text());
} else {
switch (i) {
case 0:
rv2.setTextViewText(R.id.textView1,
td.text());
i++;
break;
case 1:
rv2.setTextViewText(R.id.textView3,
td.text());
i++;
break;
case 2:
rv2.setTextViewText(R.id.textView4,
td.text());
i++;
break;
case 3:
rv2.setTextViewText(R.id.textView5,
td.text());
i++;
break;
case 4:
rv2.setTextViewText(R.id.textView6,
td.text());
i++;
break;
default:
break;
}
}
}
remoteViews.addView(R.id.layout, rv2);
Note how I use this silly switch... I can't figure out how to iterate the stupid text views per row!! Anyway, it works more or less perfectly now and will update and give me my baseball scores in a nifty, but kinda large table... now I need to figure out how to resize it.
Here's a screenshot where I put a hanshin tiger bg to it:
Hard to read, on my phone I just have it with white text on a light-grey transparent bg.

7 inches from the mid-day sun
It's HOT.
We turned on the A/C two days in a row due to the oppressive heat. It was just July 4th, a celebration of independence, so we are celebrating by using the air-conditioner to win our independence from heat and humidity. Technically we're still in rainy season, but it's been so hot I haven't been able to spend more than a few minutes on the balcony in the morning before I'm crispy and sweat is rolling off me.
Tomorrow is another check-up day, we decided that we're gonna let Rieko's body and Emma-chan decide when it's time to come out. She's at week 37 so whenever she decides to come out, she'll be okay, but we've read research (and I'm sure there is research to the contrary) that delivering at week 41 is better for the child's development.
Speaking of development, in my free time, I've been piddling around with an Android widget for tracking NPB (Japanese Baseball) scores. Today I made a lot of progress, the widget responds from a service which updates every 30 minutes and parses the scores from the website. Here's the catch... I can't use a webview with a widget, so I have to format the text nicely and build it into something I can use in the widget... I'm having the darnedest time figuring out how to build the data and push it into the widget dynamically. I mean, I know how to do it in an app, but widgets are so restrictive, and you have to use RemoteViews and there's not much you can do with it. I think I'm gonna just cave and make a layout statically and dynamically fill it on refreshes with a cursor or something. Should be easy enough..
*YAWN*
What a boring last paragraph! Who wants to read about android coding when they can look at a cute picture of a poodle rubbing a pregnant woman's belly!

Summer
25 more days!
Can you believe it?
It is hot, and getting hotter everyday. I don't know how Emma and Rieko are surviving it.
I don't know why, but summer makes me want spicy food, what about you? We got sudden death sauce and loving it :) My jalapenos are getting HUGE. How do you know when it's the right time to pick them? With habanero, you wait until they fall off the stem easily, I tried pulling on the jalapenos, but they aren't ready to come off sadly.. every time I see that monster jalapeno I just want to toast a corn tortilla and put some fresh slices on it with some cheese... or maybe just bite into it fresh.
Now that I finished the chest of drawers I was thinking about getting back into the android widget making.. I spent most of the train ride home working on the code... then my desktop didn't want to work! Ye Gads! Combined with it *I assume* overheating and crashing, maybe this widget will never be finished! :(

Tanabata
It's Tanabata!
The weather was looking to be bad today, but by the time we got to Hiratsuka, it was pretty nice, and kept getting better! Then when we left, it started raining, and when we got home it was pretty awful.
Here's our progression of food :)
This drumstick turned out to be frozen in the middle :(
