Daycare

Today we visited a nearby daycare facility. Unfortunately for us, it's in the next city, even though it's only about a 3-5 minute walk, so, we're not sure if we'll be able to get our baby in since they give a higher priority to parents who live in the same city as the daycare facility.

I got a lot more work done on the chest of drawers today, now 3 drawers are snuggled TIGHTLY into the chest... apparently when I measured, I measured it without much room to spare on width and a screw not being flush in the drawer's track will stop the whole thing from moving.

Last week there was a news report that was segued into following the news about Japan deciding to double our nation-wide sales tax (which by the way, I'm adamantly opposed to, and even more firmly opposed to the legislative system in Japan) about doggie tax. Currently, you can be fined for not picking up your dogs' poo... now they want dog owners to pay a tax for the government to pick up the poo and cigarette butts that are lying around everywhere... So.. I'm doubly charged now? And I pay for cigarette clean-up? And Okinawa wants to kick the American base out of Japan? (The last one relates like this: Japan has a large debt and yearly deficit, they want to raise sales tax to alleviate the deficit, but instead of starting with a luxury tax or targeting the people who can afford it, they blanket tax everyone... which will probably crush the economy, which means Japan's deficit will increase, I'm sure the government makes a lot of money from the American bases, and the local economies must benefit from the influence as well, but they want to kick them out... can they afford it?)

Anyway, if the dog poo tax passes, I want to see government employees picking up our dogs' poo every day. While it's still steamy and fresh.

And I leave you with this clip of some determined ducks:
